The Princess Margaret Home Lottery is celebrating a milestone of its own this year – 30 years of incredible support from our community that have fueled progress, innovation and impact in cancer research and care. Thirty years of bringing hope to cancer patients and giving them more special movements to cherish.
Thirty years ago, leading-edge treatments like immunotherapy, robotic surgery and brachytherapy - a treatment option that delivers precise, localized radiation – were barely dreamt of; today, thanks to the dedication of our researchers and the generosity of our supporters, all of these are available to cancer patients at The Princess Margaret.
We’ve made significant progress in reducing cancer incidence and mortality over the past three decades, however, cancer remains Canada’s leading cause of death. According to the latest estimates, 254,800 new cases of cancer were diagnosed in 2025 and 87,400 Canadians died as a result of cancer. At the same time, we believe that we are living in a Golden Age of cancer research and that we have a unique opportunity right now, to make progress much faster than ever before. With your help, we can accelerate discoveries made in the research labs or through clinical trials and deliver them to patients in record time.
Our 2026 Spring Home Lottery offers more than 15,000 prizes valued at over $14 Million, including an $8.5 Million Grand Prize with a stunning showhome in Thornhill plus $500,000. And, of course, our incredible $2.6 Million Early Bird Prize – a lakefront cottage in Haliburton and $50,000 cash. Each ticket you buy fuels the type of progress I’m talking about, giving you a chance to win while providing brighter tomorrows for cancer patients everywhere.
On behalf of everyone at The Princess Margaret, including the thousands of patients and their loved ones who will be able to celebrate more birthdays, anniversaries and special moments, please accept my sincere thanks. Together, let’s Carry The Fire and create a world free from the fear of cancer.
Best,
Miyo
